We're back! For those who aren't on Twitter - I love being able to post to it from my phone! - on Saturday morning, I was whisked away on the Eurostar to Lille for the weekend, which was just awesome. I have photos and stuff of course, but we only got back at midnight last night and my brain still isn't working properly. Once I've had some coffee, I shall tell you all about it.
In the meantime, what did I miss? Did anyone break anything? I've got some superglue around here somewhere, and there's always string in the kitchen drawer. When I'm suitably caffeinated, I shall probably try to get back to Friday night and catch up *pauses for hysterical laughter*, but I'm bound to miss something, so please drop in and say hi. [ETA: So, it turns out that skimming to avoid spoilers means my flist feels really, really quiet] I'm not caught up on Torchwood yet, so no spoilers, thanks - I've got today off, so once the case is unpacked, I can settle in with the computer and the iPlayer :)
*waves madly* I had a fabulous time, but it's nice to be home ♥

Did anyone break anything?
(That's my own hysterical laughter you hear) If only that were not literally true.
Am dealing with burglary trauma fallout (coping well at the time = meltdown weeks later, apparently) but should be back properly later. Also, it's really hard when there are so many Torchwood spoilers out there! *reads internet with one hand over eyes*
Trip was awesome, though, and it's nice to be home :)
I actually groomed my LJ reading list to try to protect myself from TW spoilers. It's extreme, but I don't need *that* stress too!

Heh, I just scrolled really really fast. Normally I don't care about spoilers, but I'm...sensitive...about Torchwood in many ways that I'm not about other fandoms, so I'm being at least a little careful. And my flist rock with spoiler cuts \o/
*snuggles in* Yeah, it's funny how these things catch up to you. The insurers are in touch at the moment, and I think it's just brought it all home. I feel better for having it out of my system, but kind of whacked as well! Why is stuff that's good for us so tiring?
BTW, I keep meaning to introduce you to

That is such a good question! And yeah, I was afraid the break-in sounded like the kind of thing that might sneak up on a person later as well. ::passes the tea::
::goes to look:: Oscar is there! Squee. Pretty animals.
Welcome home!
It's nice to be back, thanks.
I still need your address so I can send Oscar your direction. :-)
And on that note I must be going; getting ready to begin that new mural job today.
Once I've got Paypal sorted I'll send it to you - I kind of feel I should pay you before you commit to anything! I'm waiting for the 'verification' payments to hit my account, then it should all be fine :)
Hope the job goes well today!
Nothing terribly exciting has happened in my neck of the woods, although I (being a baby writer) am learning that herding plot bunnies is rather like herding cats. I have a feeling that this realisation gets me a pat on the had and an 'isn't she cute' from everyone else in the world but hey, it's news to me.
I did spend maybe fifteen minutes after I nominally went to bed writing down an idea in my notebook for one of the stories that is actually on my 'active' list. And whilst scribbling madly I was struck that it really is quite amazing to watch words form on the page in response to my pen. Isn't it neat!
I haven't had a chance to reply to your long comment at your journal yet - let me know if I can actually help! Otherwise, I shall watch out for fic appearing ;)
Thank you very kindly for your offer! I do appreciate it! I don't think I need anything right now, although I will let you know if that changes. I do very much appreciate your reading and responding and letting me ramble at you (although how I think you could stop me when I was rambling in a comment pane in a computer which is not in your physical presence I don't actually know, but I appreciate it nonetheless!). Take as long to reply as you will-- or don't reply if that's the way of it-- 'tis all good. (Plus, I'm not sure how much is *replyable* versus just 'yes I did read you')
Any road, I did just put up another massive tl;dr post, this time on how I accidentally wrote a first draft of a prompt that isn't even on the Big List O' Cliches but still manages to meet the prompt it should have been (four times over, even) even though the prompt I was writing to is one I thought I couldn't. I'm not positive that sentence makes sense but that's probably because I'm not sure it actually makes sense in the first place. Anyway, I think the entire post is terribly funny. And I am pleased that I do have words of some sort down. So life is reasonably happy.
I still owe you a weekend away as well, if I recall correctly.
Heh, I'd forgotten about that! Looking at my diary...er...are you free in November? ;) Or maybe we could descend on Cardiff *looks round for Z*
